Botulinum toxin type A is the most commonly known muscle relaxing material, which is locally injected in minute doses using a very fine needle into selected muscle groups in the areas around the face where dermal collagen has been weakened, such as the upper lip, forehead wrinkles, neck lines and crows feet. It works by blocking messages from the nerves to specific facial muscles causing them to relax, and prevent the muscle contractions that cause these furrows and fine lines to appear in the first place when the face is in dynamic motion, creating a smooth, younger appearance.
 
Wrinkle relaxing injections are a simple and quick procedure that can dramatically soften facial expression lines, frown lines & crows feet. Results can last 3-6 months and are a fraction of cosmetic surgery prices.
 
Botulinum toxin type A has been used by the medical profession since 1980 to treat many muscle disorders, such as cerebral palsy, uncontrolled blinking, and childhood squints. It was pioneered by dermatologic surgeons for cosmetic use in 1987. It is a naturally occurring purified protein that originates from bacteria and is specially prepared for specific cosmetic use. It is also known to relieve tension headaches or migraines as well as being acknowledged for anti wrinkles treatment.
